Beetle Drive

Beetle Drive

It could have been described as frantic, over 60 people ranging from as young as 5, to considerably older, desperately throwing dice trying to get the relevant numbers to form the various parts of a beetle.

On Saturday 18th February the Tattersall family hosted a Beetle and Cake evening to raise money for Bloodwise, a charity which researches into cures for every type of blood cancer, including leukaemia.

When half time arrived, cake and drinks were served, many thanks goes to all those who kindly donated cakes for the evening, judging at how quickly some of the cakes disappeared showed just how tasty they were!

The evening was won by Mr Robert Mills, who happily received the prize of a big bar of chocolate, with the last place position going to Ben Mayes, who accepted defeat very gracefully!

A total of £200 was raised from the sale of tickets and donations. A massive thank you to everyone who supported this enjoyable evening and we hope everyone had a great time.

A special thank you goes to everyone who helped on the evening to make this such a great success and also to ‘Not So Young Ones’, for giving up their normal meeting, allowing us to have such an enjoyable time.

The evening was in memory of John Tattersall who died of leukaemia in July 2015.
