Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday

Our Easter Sunday morning started with a breakfast at 9.00 am for those who can cope with this early hour when we also celebrated communion. The main morning service was a truly celebratory festival with every age and style of worship been fully represented. The service opened with an introit from the choir and organ, and we then proclaimed the resurrection with the words, “The Lord is risen, He is risen indeed, alleluia!” There was then a fanfare from the church low brass ensemble who were split between both sides of the balcony, the fanfare led us into our first hymn, “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”. There was then a drama with older young people, after which the younger children of the junior church sang to us. Our music group then led us in some contemporary worship songs.

After the sermon we joined together to celebrate the baptism of Dale, one of our newly voted in church members.

There will be another baptismal service shortly and so if anyone is thinking about baptism, then do have a chat with Mark, our minister.

In the evening we enjoyed a “Songs of Praise” type service where people’s choices of hymns and songs were sung.

It is good to see that Christ is risen, He is alive, and working in our lives through the Holy Spirit. If you want to experience this for yourself, then come along to any of our services. Or join with any local Christian church near you.
